I chose this quote because it is very meaningful to me in everyday life. Sometimes I feel like I have to be fearless to have courage but I don't and when I read this quote, it makes me feel better and reminds me of that. I picked the colors that I did because I wanted it to have a loud image or feel that will get your attention and makes you listen to it. I didn't have a much harder time with this one since I have done a quote like this before but it still is hard to put things where you want them and get a image in your head of what you want.

Glyph Monster
I chose this little creature because I thought it was really cute and could create a happy or relaxed mood to the viewer. Also, I chose a blue background so that I could accomplish this. The yellow and pink are for creating a bright mood and to help the other colored parts of the creature pop out. I had a lot of fun with this project and then again, it was very stressful. One reason for it being stressful is, that you had to position and size everything correctly and it took a while for that to happen. Also, you had to go back and color every single little thing! I think I struggled with making it look as close as the real picture as I could. On the other hand, it was fun because of the challenge and what you could make with all the different glyphs. I think the whole thing came out to be okay, but not super amazing. Which I can understand, since I'm just starting to get use to this.

7 Elements of Design
7 Elements of Design
Color
- It's a wavelength of light. Color can bring out emotion or represent a culture. Complementary colors can create a contrast and analogous colors can create a feeling of harmony. Monochromatic colors can demonstrate a variety of tints and shades with different colors. Also, colors can be cool or warm.
- Value can show the different aspects of light and dark of colors. It can cover contrast between light and dark. Also, it can demonstrate depth.
- They have positions, directions in space, and a dimension that demonstrates the length of them. They can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Also, they can be straight, curved, dotted, wavy, thick or thin. One purpose that they have is, they direct the eye of the reader and make sure that they're following along where they're supposed to. Lines show texture and sometimes emotion.
- Shapes are closed line two or three dimensional figures. They have length and width and can show perspective and may serve the purpose or at least some of the duties as a line.
- Form is usually shown in a three dimensional way. It adds depth to the lengths and widths of shapes. Also, if you add shading to a shape it can add the illusion of form.
- Texture helps add feel and look to a surface. It can show that a surface is soft, hard, smooth, rough, wet, or dry.
- Space is the area around an object, in a object, or even between objects. It can give a effect of depth has positive and negative qualities. Positive space is the subject of a piece and negative space can balance and highlight shapes.

Ethics are a set of moral principles that has a effect on a group or individual. It's kind of the same thing with computers but it effects the computer or the use of the computer. It can maybe show the personality of someone/ group in designing something.

Historical Poster
This poster is very detailed but it's also direct too. It's uses mainly three colors (red, white, and blue) and some others on the side. It's a patriotic poster for the U.S. that wants men (and maybe some women) to join the U.S. Army. When I look at this poster, it makes me think of my country and makes me feel patriotic. You go Uncle Sam! :)

Picture
When I look at the picture, I see a sun or a star. I just feel really warm and it reminds me of when I'm outside working or in walking class. It's also really bright to look at too. I kind of have to squint a little when I look at it.
I think pictures can affect your mood somewhat to be honest. If you're looking at a picture of someone running a marathon, either you're someone like me who is going to feel bad for that person or you're someone who feels like running or you can feel the wind (or something like that...). Also, if I'm looking at a picture of hot chocolate, I'm going to feel warm and fuzzy inside (not to mention wanting some hot chocolate).

An Awesome Week
This week has been very fun, but tiring. Two fun things that have happened this week are first, experiencing high school (because I'm a freshie!) and second, learning more about Graphic Design and Illustration class.
Experiencing high school has been really fun so far! I enjoy getting to know new people and teachers. Also, it's fun to have a lunch with your friends so you can socialize.
Learning about Graphic Design and Illustration class has been fun too! It's cool knowing about all kinds of stuff you're going to use on the computer.
I think what I'm most looking forward to this year is being a cool graphic designer or at least knowing how to do it. Also, being successful in all my classes, especially Spanish.
Being a cool graphic designer will help me excel in what I'm trying to do in life. It will also be cool to show some of my skills to my friends whenever they want me to draw or make something for them. Not to mention making my own logo or other things when I become an artist or something like that.
Finally, being successful in Spanish class would be a miracle. I totally stink at Spanish and it would be awesome if I was to be really good at it by the end of the year. I'm going to study hard this year so I can accomplish that. I hope I do well in all my classes and I hope this is going to be a great year! :)
