Mitchell_Splat

The splat assignment was really cool because I got to put my name in 3D and put paint splatters on it. You had to make each letter into a 3D shape and choose the color for the inside and outside. After that, you went to map art and overlapped the paint splatter with the letter and that got the design on the letters. Next, you put the splatters behind your name to make it look cool. I had a lot of fun with this assignment and didn't really have any difficulties with it.

Mitchell_Personal Expressions

The personal expressions assignment  was really fun because I got to design something my own way. I used a picture of me and did a tracing of it and then, I deleted all the unnecessary background. Next, I used a blue gradient as a background and put fluffy clouds on there. Therefore, I made path lines and traced around the clouds and put adjectives about myself on them. Plus, I made the main ones one font, and the others another font and then I alternated between them. I put some words to make bird shapes in the picture an extra. I liked how it turned out and the only thing that I would've changed was the picture that I took.

Mitchell_Snowboarder

The snowboarder assignment was a little challenging. One reason is because I had to change the colors on the person and make the swirls have different patterns that were NOT there. Also, when I had to put the symbols on there, I was difficult sizing each and everyone that I put to make it look good. the only part I thought was easy was when you took away and deleted the extra background on the picture of the snowboarder. I do like the colors of this assignment because they're my favorite colors. I think if I had more time, I would have shaped the swirls differently.

Mitchell_Lily Pad

The lily pad assignment was very long and tiring. I had to use the pen tool many times to create the petals and that took awhile since you had to very carefully make sure that they were the right angles and size. Then, you had to blend the different colors on the petals and lily pads. After that, you had to put different colors in different spots on the already mixed and gradient water. Finally, you put "ripples" with different opaqueness on the lily pads with the different ovals using the ellipse tool. Also, I added some ovals in the water using the ellipse tool again while changing the opaqueness. I liked how the final outcome turned out, it's very pretty. The only thing that I would have changed is the size of the flowers. They look too big on the lily pads. I liked using the gradient tool for this because it makes the flowers and water look cool and realistic.

Bellwork_October 16

The steps to create a Gradient Mesh is to first take the rectangle tool & make a rectangle and go to object and create gradient mesh. Also, you use the direct selection tool to click the anchor points.

Mitchell_Basketball Player

This assignment was really fun because I got to create a cute basketball player out of different shapes on Adobe Illustrator. I used the ellipse tool many times to create the eyes, head, arms, fingers, feet, and basketball. Sometimes I would have to use the shape builder tool to cut and make some things that I needed that I wouldn't be able to get normally like the smile and the lines on the basketball. Also, at certain times I had to use the  rectangle tool to get the legs, shorts, and neck. The only time were I had a really hard time, was getting the hair right. I mean, making sure all those curls look and fit right was difficult. I'm really happy on how this turned out because it does look sort of cute. If I had to change something, it would probably be the arms. They look a little off to me.

Mitchell_Personal Sign Project

I chose this sign because I thought it was cute for one and also I love popcorn and movies! The colors make you feel like you're at a theater. Also, this project was fun because I got to try to see if I could create a copy of this that looks alike. I know that some parts don't look correct but, I did try my best! That's also what made this assignment difficult. While I was working on this, some parts didn't want to be the size that I wanted it to be because the computer was giving me a hard time (or maybe it was just me). Also, I couldn't find the font for HOME THEATER and that made look more off than it needed it to be.

Mitchell_Pen Tool Sign

Making the Las Vegas sign was a little tricky. Trying to make sure that everything is in the right place can be difficult. Also, sometimes when you try to put shapes and letters where you want them to go, they won't go there. I did have a little fun with this sign by coloring and picking different fonts but other than that, it was kind of hard.

Pen Practice

This practice was a little difficult since working with the pen tool for the first time is not the easiest thing in the world. It was fun as a challenge thought. I chose the blue color to make the shapes pop out.
