Movie poster

To make this sad excuse for a poster, I first started off with a simple picture of a forest. Then, I made some adjustments with the saturation to make the picture seem pale and misty looking. To add some depth and darkness I used a Curves adjustment to make it seem more mysterious. Also, multiple times I put Selective Color adjustments on here to make the forest seem Night time-ish and concealing.  Plus, I used the burn and dodge tool to darken and add some glow to the trees. Next, I used a soft brush with a cyan color and made a spot behind a certain tree. Sure, I did have to erase the parts that were covering the tree but, it makes a little light in the dark. Then, I used some cloud filters to make a fog effect. After that, to make the light a little stronger, I used a brighter cyan color and some white to go on top of it. To make a reflection effect, I made cyan smears on nearby trees. Plus, to make a more foggy look, I added more cloud filters. Then, with a light cyan brush, I created a realistic looking fog with more cloud filters. Next, i tried to make a lens flare with the cyan spot, but it didn't work out very well. I made little strips of cyan with the pen tool and drew a faint line with the brush tool to create a shine look. To brighten the lines, i highlighted them with another cyan brush. Then, I made a white and gray smudge with the motion blur filter and highlighted them also. Towards the end, I used some channel mixers to add more darker effects. I also had added small strips of cyan and white to make it look like the light was shining on the trees. Furthermore, I added in the photo and used a mask to cut him out. Plus, adding a few adjustment layers on him to make him match the setting. Then, I used the burn tool once more to add shadows to the area. After that, I placed what I had done into a poster size document and added some text to it. For the word,"FUGITIVE", I duplicated it and added a motion blur. Sadly, I was supposed to add some branches to this but, I couldn't find the brush pack for it. I honestly, really don't like this poster and I would've tried to make it better if I could.

Advertising Campaign

My product is Panda Pillows which is a marshmallow with a Panda face on it. Since it looks what one might call cute, I based my advertisement around that theme. I first used a fun type of pink for the background to create a bright, cheery setting. Then, I made a pattern out of polka dots with colors that matched and complemented the pink boarder. Therefore, I made a white rectangle inside the pink one and used the pattern overlay layer style to make the pattern go across it. I thought by doing this that it made the setting even more brighter and the colors can catch the reader's attention/eye. Also, kids might be attracted to the certain colors.  Next, I found and used a picture of a bowl marshmallows with different cute faces on them that also used similar colors with my border and pattern. Since using just a regular block picture can be boring, I made a layer mask on the picture and used a soft brush to fade out the edges of the picture to give it a soft, blended look. I thought this made it look better and more comfortable. For the text, I used the font Myriad Pro for a informative and simple effect that's easy to fit anywhere. I made the text color a lighter green that stuck out and makes it easier to read. Next, I used the bevel and emboss, stroke, and drop shadow layer styles to make the text pop out and look better. It can also catch the attention of the reader. As you can see, I made the word "pandas" different from the rest since the product involves pandas and it draws attention to itself. I used a text modification on the word and used colors that represent a panda. The slogan, "What's a party without pandas?", refers to the picture because there are all kinds of marshmallows in the bowl, but there are no pandas. Therefore, there is no party without some pandas. After, the text I put the actual product logo towards the bottom right of the ad which sometimes other companies do. The intended audience group that I targeted was mainly kids but it could also be for anyone who likes marshmallows. I used fun colors and effects that would help attract kids or anyone who likes cute things. I also put in the cute picture for effect.

Marble Bust

I thought this assignment was really cool and disturbing at the same time. First, I had to take a picture of my face and shoulders and delete the background for total isolation. Then, I had to make a mask to do some touch-ups and I had to bring in and isolate a marble bust. Next, I had to use a technique which involved me merging and blending my face and the statue together to connect them and make it look like I'm a statue. I also used the clone stamp tool to remove my ID and still make it look like my neck. Then, multiple times I had to desaturate objects and fade them to make it look like stone. Next, I had to blend a layer of purple on the bust to add some color and contrast. After that, I used the photo filter effect and did and overlay of some  dirt to make a old-like look on the statue and pillar. Also, I did a blur on that to smooth it out. Next, I added some highlights and shadows to bring out certain things with the brush tool. Plus, I did an overlay blend on that layer. Then, I put in and blurred a gallery background behind it all. I also added a pillar and made it match to the statue. Just for fun, I put in a gold plate for realistic effects too. A big part of this was that I had to add some blood but, I thought that was a little creepy so I made it to where I am crying rainbows! Plus, I had to add some highlights and shadow to the tears too. Then I made a purple glaze in my eye to make some sadness. Next, I had to make a "crack brush" to add some realistic looking cracks in my statue and pillar. Finally, I did a color adjustment to make everything to have its final effect.
